When Life Gets Tough....Apply Dogs

How Many Dogs DO the Freibott's Have?

As you know, we live by the Motto:

As I've recently been asked "How the heck Many dogs do you have?!"  I invite you to attempt a count...

I will give you a Hint:
In order to maintain our Redneck Status we Need to have at least 2 dogs per acre of land.  We have 2 1/2 acres...we just barely scraped by this year!

Through-out chemo, our greatest medicine has been to gather and apply as many Dogs as possible...it works every time:)

We have 'Working Dogs'...

Kissy Dogs...

Big Doggies...

Tiny Doggies....

Fancy Doggies...

Goats that think they're Doggies...

Dogs who think they're Boys...

Boys who act like Doggies...

and Dogs who live on laps:)

We do indeed Maintain a High Level of Doggage....

Let me know if you figure it out!

Love to all!

Mail Art Makes my Day

Mail Art Makes my Day

Not sure why, but 'after chemo' weeks are sometimes just, well,  hard.  Sometimes even when things are good it just sucks the life out of you and the next week is unusually emotional.

This week it seems the waves kept hitting me from behind- and I just ended up with Water up my Nose and Sand in the ole Butt Cheeks...

But all of my 'Uncomfortable-Beach-Related-Metaphors' were washed away when I picked up the Mail.....and......My Mystic Tulip Mixed Media Order Came in!!!!

I have been stalking... I mean 'Following' Betty Franks for months now.  She is such an incredible Talent and I love her style.

When she finally announced her Etsy store etsy.com/shop/MysticTulipArt was open- I ordered that day!
Even her Business Card is adorable!!!

As you know we live in Red Neck Ville and we don't get Mail delivered to our house.  As we are a mile out on a Dirt Road UPS and Fed Ex fight over who has to come out and sometimes they use Pidgeons or even just leave the package at the stinkin' Post Office!!

I tell you- I've bribed those boys with everything from Cookies to Beer and we still just have to hope that we're not the only order on the truck or it could be weeks.

So- if you ever send me anything and it takes forever- it's not you my friend- it's the Pony Express out here:)

And it even has cute Flowers on the Envelope!
of All....  And She put in a Special Extra Book Mark....Loved it!!!

Oooo.....and the Goodies Continued!!

Can You Stand The Cuteness????!!!!  The Pics don't do them the Justice they deserve:)

I was going to send them out right away as Thanks you's....But NOPE!  They are mine!:)  I'll just have to order some More:)

Ok- now if you don't know Betty yet- go Right Now to her FaceBook Biz Page and you will see how Amazing she is.

To Celebrate her 50th Birthday....she mailed out Cards to 50 Very Lucky People- I seriously Jumped up and down when I saw the Envelope!

This is Just the Envelope!!!  Seriously?  I don't know how she did it- I think she actually Hand Painted them all!  And Here's the Back!

I've been staring at it all day today.  It's like Therapy!

Here's the Birthday Card that she sent to ME!
And I've seen her picture- ain't know way she's 50!!

I know...If it was 4 foot by 3 foot I would hang it on my wall!  LOVE it!
I am keeping all of these right in my Work shop for Inspiration!

So Go Check her out on her Facebook Page and Etsy Shop!
Remember all of these Images are Copyright Mystic Tulip Mixed Media Art- I had Betty's Permission to post them and I will hunt you down if you use them illegally:) Just Kidding...no seriously I will...

Molly's Sunday Musings: Love and MSG

Molly's Sunday Musings

Today I came upon this Beautiful Translation!  I know MSG sounds like some kind of Chinese Food Ingredient...not sure what it stands for, but it really speaks Volumes.

Speak. Love.

1 Corinthians 13 (MSG)

The Way of Love

13 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.

2 If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere.

So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Good Stuff.

Go. Speak. Love.

Love to all!

To Do List Mayhem...My Right Brain runs Wild!

To Do List Mayhem

So, as this is Thursday and I am writing about Monday- you can infer the kind of week it's been:)

Here my friends is the Great Wisdom I have gleaned from my Experience:

Yes- I thought that my Great Epiphany of "Choosing Two Things" was indeed a Break Through in my 'Over-Achieving-Ever-Striving-Nothing-is-ever-Enough Struggles.'

SO- Bright and Early on Monday Morning I sat down with my "Brain" which is the Hot Pink Notebook I can't live without.

My To Do List looked like this:

Ya- It's ok if you can't read it...
Here is a Brief Metaphorical Synopsis of my New "Choose Two" Program:

1)  Build a Thermo-Nuclear Reactor from Scratch
2)  Learn to Fly

Simple...just 2 things...

Is there anyone out there who can Relate???

I literally started at 6:30 and ended up exhausted, flopped on the couch at 10:00pm having only taken a 10 minute break to eat and pee.  Not once did I darken the door of my Studio.
AND!!!  I was a failure because the Very 'Simple' task of
3)  Clean Studio

Didn't happen...

Seriously??

Why, Why, Why do we do this to ourselves?

Why is it Never Enough?  Why do we gauge our Self Worth on our Productivity?
and Then- even when we are Ridiculously Productive- our Unrealistic Expectations Still shoot us down like a Patriot Missile!?

So- I am back to my Original List..

Tomorrow is a New Day to try to Break things down into "Non-Super-Hero" sized pieces and MAYBE- just MAYBE...allow some things to Carry Over to the next day without Self Destruction:)

Until then I will remember that in My Ridiculous Weakness He is strong..

Are you with me?

Love to all!

Our Quest for the Illusive Oreo Ends..

Our Noble Quest for the Candy Corn Oreo is Fulfilled!

Yes my fellow 'Seekers of the Golden Oreo'...we have finally found that which we have long sought for....The Illusive Candy Corn Oreo...

We travelled over 50 miles from our home and came to the Great Mecca of Tempe....and the glorious Marketplace known as Target...

Wearing the Ceremonial Hat...Nick, along with many other Pilgrims gathered in the Aisle to receive their portion...

And so....the Contemplation of the Oreo began....

Here, my son Nathan, who also put his life on Hold to search out the Meaning of all things Oreo...finally climbs the 'Mountain of Contemplation'...

His Younger Brother too has followed in his Enormous, size 16 Footprints...

And has Joined in the Quest....

As we are all Composing Epic Poems and Songs to Commemorate the event, we ask that you join us soon for 'Sage and Weighty Words of Oreo Wisdom'...

Love to all!

Share the Link Love Blog Hop

Five Posts that were Hard to Post!

Happy Friday All!  This weeks Blog Hop has the Theme: "Curate Your Own Blog"!  List five Blog Posts that you almost didn't Post:)  I can't wait to see what everyone chooses!
Here's My Top 5 'Hardest to Post'

1.  My First 'Tutuorial'-  This was my first attempt at a 'step by step how to' and I was pretty nervous!  the funny thing is that I didn't particular like this little ICAD at first so I was surprised that People wanted to hear more:)

2.  My Etsy Shop Might Kill Me-  Sometimes it's really hard to be transparent about how hard it is for me to learn the stuff that everyone else seems to take for granted.   There was some definite Hair Pulling Out here:)

3.  My Right Brain Business Plan-  I hadn't really shared my plans before with anyone other than my online friends so this felt More than a little Scary.

4. Working through Anger and Pain Series-  This was tough to post because I was going through the situation as I posted each of the 3 parts.  I wasn't sure how it would come across:)

5 What we've learned from Hard Times-  This was kind of  a brief 'wrap up' of our last 6 years going through Chemo and what it has taught us.   Sometimes it's really hard to see those pictures.  But it all ended up on a happy note!

So Pop on over to Daisy Yellow "Curate your Own Blog" post and Check out the Mr. Linky at the bottom of her post.  It will give you links to everyone who is Participating and you can Check out what everyone has Posted.

Happy Hopping!
